Governor Herbert signs into law the Pete Suazo Memorial Highway
A Stretch of Redwood Road is Officially Named Pete Suazo Memorial Highway
On Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 a five-mile section of Redwood Road, from 2100 South to 1700 North in Salt Lake City, was designated Pete Suazo Memorial Highway in memory of the late State Senator, Pete Suazo. Mr. Suazo was Utah’s first Latino state senator and great advocate for the state’s Latino/Hispanic population.
The Center is Honored at The 2010 Legacy Award
Salt Lake City, UT – The Sutherland Institute hosted its annual Legacy award Banquet on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 7:00 pm, on the fourth floor of the Rice-Eccles Stadium and Towers at the University of Utah. Many elected officials and community leaders were in attendance at the Legacy Awards Banquet. The event is part of an ongoing Sutherland effort to recognize individuals and organizations that, through private initiative, have improved Utah in ways that reflect Sutherland’s governing principles: personal responsibility, family, religion, private property, free markets, charity, and limited government. Goverment of Mexico Donates a Grant to The Center
The Government of Mexico has provided IME-BECAS Grant (www.imebecas.org) to the Pete Suazo Business Center, which is located within the jurisdiction of the Consulate of Mexico in Salt Lake City. This Grant aims to offer scholarships to adult Hispanics for computer courses provided by the Center. What is the Pete Suazo Business Center?
